AVID One
Here at WDHS we have Four Avid editing machines. AVID one runs AVID Xpress video editing software. This one is running off of an Apple Macintosh computer. It has dual monitors and a DV(digital video) deck. It has also a video monitor. This was the second AVID purchased by WDHS. This AVID is located on the studio floor level.
AVID Two
This was the second AVID editing system, running AVID Media Composer video editing software, that we bought here at WDHS in the late 90's. AVID Two, as we call it, is also running off of an Apple Macintosh computer. Though its effects are basic, it has run as well as AVID One and Three in stability, and reliablility. This AVID is located on the studio floor level.
AVID Three
This was the third AVID editing system, running AVID Xpress Pro video editing software, purchased by WDHS. It runs off of a Microsoft XP PC. It has an AVID Mojo box, which has the power of AVID's DNA (Digital Nonlinear Accelerator) technology. It has the most digital effects and is somewhat faster than the other AVID's here at WDHS. It is located in the control room. (It explains for all the other stuff in the picture.)
AVID Four
AVID Four is our most recently purchased AVID editing system, running AVID Xpress DV video editing software. We purchased it in January of 2005. It is located in the Studio Productions (Intro to video) classroom, Mr. Shaw's class. The primary users of it are the beginner students. Mr. Shaw teaches the students how to use it, and prepares them for using the other AVIDs. It also runs off of a Microsoft XP PC. We only have one screen on this AVID but it is still enough for editing. There currently is no deck, but we use a MiniDV Camera to digitize video with.
