Apple's Final Cut Studio package is the future of video editing. In the past, many production houses have been using AVID or equivelant software packages. Apple, who as you may know, invented digital animation and arts, is the new future of video and editing. Apple started with Pixar and sold it to George Lucas' companies. Steve Jobs who founded Pixar and co-founded Apple didn't stop there. Final Cut Studio is a collection of tools that are the essence of editing. These tools include Soundtrack Pro, which is used for editing the sound of your picture. Motion 2, Used for visual effects and advanced animations. Compressor, for all your encoding needs. DVD Studio Pro, for making those killer DVD's when you're finished. And of course, Final Cut Pro, which you will use to piece together all of your work into one masterpeice. The workflow is phenomenal and the layout is user friendly and easy to pick up. In the movie world, many new major motion pictures are being edited with Apple's Final Cut Pro. One of the most well known for taking a step forward in using Final Cut Pro was Tim Burton's "The Corpse Bride", made in 2005. This film consisted of soley digital still pictures. It is the first feature film to be made with comercial digital still photography camera's. It took 109,440 digital still frames to be edited together with Final Cut Pro to make the movie. |

Apple's MacPro is the fastest Mac ever. Intel Inside, has two Dual Core Intel Xeon Processors and runs at 3.0GHz and is fully 64-bit. The machine was purchased at the beginning of the year and is the fastest machine in the school, not only in the studio. It will be used primarily for Autodesk's Maya and Apple's Final Cut Studio. The machine boasts groundbreaking benchmarks and has a sleek design. It is reliable and has some of the best graphics in the industry. We are hoping to expand our horizons with this new Apple machine so that students are exposed to new technology and can become more comfortable with all sorts of pathways. |
