Russ Gibb
Mr. Gibb, the founder of WDHS, teaches our upper-level classes. He has taught for 35 years, the last 20 being his years coordinating WDHS. For many years he has been a radio and TV personality. He currently hosts a web show, "Russ Gibb at Random" which previously aired on cable-TV. Mr. Gibb was the video teacher of the year in 1994, and also recieved a certificate of recognition from the United States Office of Education in 1976 for significant contributions to gifted and talented youth. He has served on the Citizen's Advisory Commitee for the University of Michigan,and is currently a member of the Communications Board for U of M-Dearborn. He is a trustee of Columbia College, Chicago, and served as National Director of Youth and Education for the Whitehouse Bi-centenial Commision. Mr. Gibb retired from teaching in 2004. He is a legend of the school and will be greatly missed. All of his students and incoming students looked forward to listening to many of Mr. Gibb's lessons. He still visits the studio from time to time and keeps in touch with Mr. Doelle and some of his old students.
Kurt Doelle
Mr. Doelle taught the introductory class at WDHS before Mr. Gibb retired. He now teaches the advanced video and editing classes while Jim Shaw has taken the intro video classes. He also serves as district-wide communications specialist, and produces and directs many school-wide productions. He was chosen "Teacher of the Year" in 2004. Mr. Doelle is a big fan of discussions and likes to hear oppinions.
James Shaw
Mr. Shaw is a new teacher who came from Fordson High School. He teaches the intro to video class called Studio Productions 1 and 2. He teaches the students how to edit, use the studio equipment, direct, and act. He also teaches students how to analyze films and write critiques. He is an integral part of the team and likes what he does.
