A Tale of a Cowboy, and His Loss of Innocence
The goal of this project is to provide students with the challenges and complications of on-location shooting, enriching and showcasing their production skills. This is a student-driven production with all phases of the work being done by current students of the Dearborn Public Schools. Red River Crossing is a historically based drama that features confrontations that occurred during the South Western cattle range wars of the 1870's. Based on the character of Billy the Kid (Henry McCarthy) Red River Crossing will feature both exterior (Greenfield Village) and interior scenes that will replicate the look, sound, and feel of this era in a highly action-packed dramatic piece. Historically correct, attire, attitudes, and dialect will be significant to achieve this prospect. A cast and crew composed of six directors/producers, nine principal actors, twenty extras, and over twenty other committed students will be on location for the production. Pre-production for this work has already exceeded hundreds of hours. Shooting has already begun and will continue until mid May. This advance time will allow the production crew adequate time to rehearse and logistically prepare for the undertaking
